Airdrie Kids Craft is committed to making our sessions and our website accessible to everyone in our community, including individuals with disabilities. We believe that building, creating, and learning should be open to all.

1. Our Commitment

We strive to ensure that:

  • Our website is usable by people of varying abilities, including those using screen readers, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technologies.

  • Our in-person sessions are welcoming and accommodating to participants with diverse needs, including children with special needs and those who may need extra support.

  • We continuously look for ways to improve accessibility as we grow.

Richard, our session lead, brings over 25 years of experience working with children in schools, including experience supporting children with special needs and those who may otherwise find it harder to access structured activities. This experience shapes how we run every session.

2. Website Accessibility

Our website is built on the Wix platform, which provides built-in accessibility features. We aim to follow accessibility best practices, including:

  • Clear, readable text and sufficient color contrast

  • Descriptive text for images where possible

  • Logical page structure and navigation

  • Compatibility with standard screen reader and keyboard navigation tools

We are an evolving small business, and while we aim for a high standard of accessibility, we recognize there may be areas for improvement. We welcome your feedback.

3. In-Person Session Accessibility

We want every participant to feel comfortable and supported. If you or your child have specific needs - whether related to mobility, sensory sensitivities, learning differences, or anything else - please let us know when booking. This helps us:

  • Prepare appropriate accommodations in advance

  • Ensure the right level of support during the session

  • Make sure Inspire (Airdrie Public Library) is the right fit, or help identify any adjustments needed

We are always happy to have a conversation beforehand to make sure a session is the right fit for your child.

Accessibility is not a one-time checklist - it's an ongoing commitment. As Airdrie Kids Craft grows, we will continue to:

  • Review and improve our website's accessibility

  • Listen to feedback from our community

  • Adapt our sessions to better support all participants
